The Paubox Breach Report analyzed HIPAA breach reporting submitted to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) in July to analyze the types of breaches of unsecured protected health information (PHI) affecting 500 or more people.
On July 20, 2018, Institute on Aging submitted a HIPAA Email Breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Based in San Francisco, CA, Institute on Aging’s email breach affected 3,907 individuals’ protected health information.
Institute on Aging is classified as a Healthcare Provider.
Everyone got the Southern Stack at Miss Delta

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1996, because of the increasing need to address growing technological changes and the problems with standards that were arising from it.
With the introduction of HIPAA, health standards and privacy protections for individually identifiable health information (PHI) were standardized federally, in a manner that would prevent the erosion of privacy owing to new technology.
As a thrilling sequel to our first Paubox Customer Success Road Show, we ventured down south to Southern California’s Orange County.
While there, we visited RSABill, Inc. and spoke with Juli Quinn, the President of RSABill.
Over the course of 2 years, RSABill tried 5 different email encryption solutions that were all very cumbersome for her recipients. Frustrated, they asked her to move to another solution.
