From Oct. 3-6, Paubox exhibited at the NCPA Annual Convention and Expo in Kansas City.
It was our first pharmacy conference. The convention is built for independent community pharmacists and their teams, and most of the pharmacies we met were family-owned shops serving small communities.
At our booth, we had time for real conversations about the changes pharmacies need to make to be HIPAA compliant.
We also met with vendors about building the Paubox Email API into their platforms so they can better communicate with their pharmacy partners.

Our takeaways
- Some pharmacies we met want a legitimate way to email prescribers and patients, and today they're using free personal email accounts.
- Pharmacies told us they text prescribers in cryptic messages because they don't have a legitimate way to email, and they aren't sure what is and isn't allowed.
