Each month we share a mix of UI updates, bug fixes, and new features shipped across the Paubox platform. Have a suggestion? Let your account manager know.
More ways to verify your identity when signing in
Multi-factor authentication now supports multiple verification methods. Users can add any combination of these methods and manage them from a redesigned Security settings page in their account.
- Passkeys, including Face ID, fingerprint, and hardware security keys.
- Authenticator apps for time-based one-time passwords.
- Text message and email verification codes.
- One-time recovery codes as a fallback option.
- The Security settings page has been redesigned to make it straightforward to add, name, and remove individual verification methods.
Existing users see no change. Email verification keeps working as before.
Preview quarantined attachments without downloading
Attachments on quarantined messages can now be previewed directly in the message modal on inbound email security and outbound quarantine pages. No download required.
- Attachments appear above the fold with a file-type icon, or an image thumbnail for images, on both Inbound and Outbound Quarantine.
- Supported file types for in-browser preview: images, PDFs, plain text, CSV, Excel (.xls/.xlsx), and Word (.docx).
- Files are identified by their actual contents, not just the file name, and rendered safely in-browser. Nothing is sent to a third-party service.
- Messages quarantined for virus or macro detection keep their attachments as download-only.
- A visual cue distinguishes previewable files (eye icon) from download-only files (dimmed with a dashed border).
- The message modal now has a consistent, fixed width and shows a loading indicator while opening.
Light and dark mode for all users
Display mode preferences are now available to all users and all accounts. Toggle between light and dark mode from your account display settings. The preference applies across the platform.
Choose which categories appear in your quarantine reports
Customer admins can now select exactly which mail categories are included in Quarantine Reports. A new Quarantine Report Categories section is available under Settings, then Inbound Security.
- Available categories: ExecProtect, data loss prevention (DLP), Geofence, Gray, Macros, Phish, Spam, and Virus.
- Replaces the previous fixed list of categories that all users received.
- Virus category reports are restricted to admin users only. DLP category reports are limited to users with the DLP notification permission.
- All other selected categories go to everyone who receives a report.
- Regular users still see only their own mailbox. Admins receive the customer-wide rollup.
- Changes apply to the next scheduled report.
Additional updates by product
Inbound and outbound security
- Many of your Quarantine, Quarantine History, and Mail Log filters are now multi-select — pick more than one category (or, on Mail Log, more than one status) at once. Your selections save to your account and carry over across browsers and devices.
ExecProtect+
- Updated ExecProtect+ global allow rules so that wildcard entries — like allowing every sender from a specific domain — now match correctly.
Account administration
- Clicking an external link to a Paubox page while already signed in now takes you directly to the destination instead of redirecting to the sign-in screen, as long as your session is active and you have the required permissions.
- Dropdown action menus have been added to Inbound and Outbound Quarantine message detail modals. Checkbox click target areas on table rows have also been expanded.
Paubox Email API
- The Paubox Email API Domains and API Keys settings page has been redesigned. Each domain now appears once, even when used for both Email API and Marketing. Bulk-delete and bulk-revoke actions are available via row checkboxes. API keys now have a sortable Last Used column. The domain verification page shows your live Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record and the exact value to add.
Paubox Forms
- Paubox Forms per-submission downloads are restored. Download individual submissions as PDF or CSV from the row action menu or the Submission Details modal.
Self-service signup
- Prospects who select a plan on the Paubox pricing page now land directly on the payment screen with their product, tier, volume, and billing term pre-filled.
DLP
- The DLP Observation Report layout has been updated for a more compact, easier-to-read format.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug in Paubox Marketing drip campaigns where selecting an email in a "Send an Email" step didn't always stick, and some emails were missing from the picker.
- Fixed a bug in the Paubox Marketing API where certain bulk-delete requests could remove more subscribers than intended.
- Multiple improvements to geofencing accuracy, reducing false quarantines on legitimate mail from US-based senders, distribution list addresses, and mail arriving through email security gateways.
- Fixed two ExecProtect issues: a regex pattern rule that was incorrectly flagging certain valid email addresses, and a domain lookup that failed when email addresses included mixed-case characters.
- Fixed inbound email delays caused by a DNS blocklist service error.
- Fixed an issue where the inbound quarantine admin view would fail to load.
- Fixed hourly time labels on stats graphs when viewing a single day.
- Fixed the Partner Dashboard usage tier display to correctly pluralize unit labels.
