Sage Elliott and John Votta: Reliable, Fault-Tolerant Orchestration for AI Agents (AI meetup in SF)

Sage Elliott and John Votta: Reliable, Fault-Tolerant Orchestration for AI Agents (AI meetup in SF)

Last week a few co-workers and I heard Sage Elliott and John Votta speak about Union.aiʻs upcoming Flyte 2.0 at an AI meetup in San Francisco.

What's happening: The AI meetup was held at the AWS Loft on Market Street, which was a short walk from Paubox HQ.

John is a Product Manager at Union.ai, while Sage is an AI Engineer there. Their talk focused on fault-tolerant orchestration.

Did you say fault-tolerant orchestration?: Indeed. Their presentation on it was split into three segments:

  • Automatic caching for intermediate workflow results
  •  Versioned deployments for updates
  • Comprehensive tracing and high-level observability for failures and logs.

My takeaways:

  • “Agents killed the DAG” (Sage Elliott)
  • "1,000 agents is going to replace a person" (Sage quoting Masayoshi Son)

The bottom line: It was my third AI meetup of the year and I look forward to the next one. It's always time to level up.

Enjoy the videos and pics!
