Paubox Email Suite Plus and Premium customers can now preview attachments on quarantined messages without downloading the original email. Quarantined messages show their attachments up front, and supported files open right inside the message view. This works on both Inbound and Outbound Quarantine.

What's happening

Now you can see exactly what a quarantined attachment is before you act on it. Open the message, preview the file inline, and decide what to do with it, all without downloading the original email. Customers asked for a faster way to review quarantined mail, so we built it.

How it works

Open a quarantined message and its attachments appear above the fold, each with a file-type icon, or a thumbnail for images. Click a supported attachment to preview it inside the message view. Supported formats include images, PDFs, plain text, CSV, Excel (.xls and .xlsx), and Word (.docx).

Files are identified by their actual contents, not the file name, and everything renders in your browser. Nothing is sent to a third-party viewer.

A quick visual cue tells you what you can open. Previewable files show an eye icon. Download-only files are dimmed with a dashed border.

Preview is turned off for messages quarantined as malware, meaning Virus and Macros detections. Those attachments stay download-only, and Paubox trusts the upstream scan.
