More reliable inbound rules and quarantine

Several customers had reported that their inbound block and allow rules weren't being respected, or that messages were landing in quarantine unexpectedly. This release fixes the underlying causes so rules behave predictably and quarantined mail is easier to search and act on.

  • Block and allow rules now follow precedence, so the more specific rule wins. If a domain is blocked but a specific sender on that domain is allowed, that sender's mail is allowed, and the reverse holds too.
  • Rule matching is now case-insensitive across both the interface and the backend, fixing rules that previously failed to match because of capitalization.

Richer inbound email statistics

The Inbound Statistics page was expanded and cleaned up so admins get a fuller, clearer picture of what Paubox is filtering.

  • New mail categories on the statistics page: Gray, ExecProtect, and Virus (Macro), plus a DLP category for DLP customers.
  • New audio transcription chart at the bottom of the page, visible when voicemail transcription is enabled.
  • Redesigned date picker and domain selector, moved to the left side of the page, with clearer, properly formatted axis labels.

Inbound email security

  • Strengthened protections against prompt injection attempts in inbound mail analyzed by Paubox's AI.

Account administration

  • Added single sign-on as an option for new customers during self-service sign-up.
  • The Senders page no longer displays or counts encrypted senders with no activity in the past 45 days, giving admins a cleaner and more accurate view.

Outbound and Email API

  • Added a safeguard that resets server state for unclosed SMTP connections, preventing the kind of mail loop a stuck connection can cause.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a Paubox Forms issue where a custom logo did not display, showing a blank box or the default Paubox logo instead.
  • Fixed a sign-in issue where admins created through the new-customer setup tool could get stuck on the account details step when logging in.
  • Fixed a database error that was causing intermittent deferrals on some outbound mail.
  • Fixed a bug causing intermittent deferrals on some inbound mail.
  • Fixed a permissions issue that prevented some DLP admins from accessing the outbound quarantine.
  • Fixed broken documentation links on the Email API settings and webhooks pages.
  • Addressed reported security issues in Paubox Forms.
  • Fixed an issue where clients with very old (pre-2020) subscriptions that had no linked order did not appear. Default order information is now filled in so these clients display correctly.
