Mailchimp describes it as a delivery API for transactional messages such as account alerts, event notifications, order confirmations, password reminders, welcome emails, and customer service responses.
Is Mailchimp Transactional Email HIPAA compliant? No, based on our research, Mailchimp Transactional Email is not HIPAA compliant.
As of May 2026, our review did not identify any publicly disclosed changes to Mailchimp Transactional Email HIPAA-related policies or business associate agreement (BAA) terms. Mailchimp continues to present Transactional Email as a Mailchimp add-on, and Mailchimp’s Standard Terms of Use state customers are responsible for deciding whether the service is suitable for obligations under laws like HIPAA.
