Last night I attended a Health Tech Founder Dinner at Anatolian Tavern in San Francisco. It was hosted by Tyler Brown and Luke Hartman.

Attendees:

Overheard at the table (sans attribution):

  • Jira in relation to Linear: “That's some boomer tech."
  • “Hype is everything“ when fundraising
  • Do not use a Lime bike on Market Street
  • 70% of doctor notes during a patient visit don't make it to the EHR
  • As of six months ago, there are more AI agents than humans on the web
  • If you make your Luma RSVP page public, you'll get riff-raff.

The bottom line:

  • Living in San Francisco makes me a better CEO. I learn faster and I'm exposed to new ideas and people.

Being my first time to Anatolian Tavern, Claude recommended the following:

  • The Kalecik Karası (Sevilen, Türkiye) at $15 is the move. It's a Turkish grape you rarely see stateside, light-to-medium body, red-cherry and spice, and it flexes across meze and grilled meat without fighting either.

  • Lahmacun to split as a starter (roll it up with the tomatoes and sumac onions), ezme or a small meze spread with the house bread, then the Adana kebab as your main if you eat meat.

Enjoy the pics!
