Carmack's Law (according to Patrick Collison)

Carmack's Law (according to Patrick Collison)

San Francisco - I'm pretty sure Patrick Collison defined a new term last night, Carmack's Law.

What's happening: Yesterday I attended a fireside chat with Patrick Collison (Stripe) and Karri Saarinen (Linear). It was hosted at the Accel office in South Park.

Carmack's Law: Patrick defined Carmack’s Law as the principle that no software project is too large for a single person to write entirely on their own.

The term pays homage to John Carmack, who built Doom largely by himself.

Search results: After I got home, I searched for it on Google and ChatGPT. No results.

Therefore, it's safe to say Patrick coined a new term last night.
