Scholarship recipient Jada Lee is a UC Berkeley student studying Society & Environment and Education. Here is a word from Jada:
“Aloha! My name is Jada Lee and I am a 2023 recipient of the Paubox
Kahikina Scholarship. I am a rising senior at UC Berkeley studying Society & Environment and Education. Last summer, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Hanahau’oli Elementary School, leading a Recycled Art class. The curriculum I created helped elementary students turn everyday trash, like bottle caps and cardboard, into creative art projects while learning about environmental sustainability. It sparked my interest in curriculum development and made me realize how a positive experience engaging with STEM in early education can shape a student’s confidence in the STEM field. I am very grateful to the Paubox Kahikina Scholarship for giving me a community and opportunities that have supported my educational journey.”
