Problem: A Need for HIPAA Compliant Email
Hookele faced a problem with HIPAA compliance and employee productivity. Since they often deal with client names, diagnoses and summaries, they are required by law to encrypt their data when sending information to team members and people outside of their organization.
Prior to using Paubox, Hookele staff would send protected health information (PHI) via fax or use code names via unencrypted email. Both practices are prone to error (sending a fax to the wrong number, forgetting to use a code name) and are not efficient when outside the office.
Solution: Paubox Encrypted Email
Hookele was able to use Paubox Encrypted Email by making three configuration changes to their Exchange server and firewall. This process took less than 30 minutes. After these changes were in place, all of Hookele’s outbound email was seamlessly encrypted by Paubox. In addition, Hookele gained robust inbound email encryption and protection against email-based attacks.
Hookele employees were not required to change any settings on their computers, nor were they required to install any apps on their smartphones. In a nutshell, Hookele Health was able to reap the benefit of HIPAA compliant, encrypted email without changing the way they interact with email.
