This week our team was on the road in D.C. and exhibited at SHSMD 2022. It was a great conference with members of the Society for Health Care Strategy & Marketing Development joining from all over the nation. Check out our post for what we learned at this year’s conference.
Paubox started in Hawaii with Hoala Greevy and because of that we are known to give away a trip to Hawaii at some of the conferences and events we attend. At SHSMD this year, Greg Gossett of HealthAware was our lucky winner to Hawaii at SHSMD. Congrats, Greg! HealthAware provides health risk assessments and patient engagement solutions to raise disease awareness and persuade healthcare interaction.
At first, people had to stop and think, “Wait, you mean I can send PHI in a marketing email?” Yes! You can! It was a lot of fun for our team to watch healthcare marketers’ expressions when they began to realize the impactful implications of utilizing PHI in an email to patients. Paubox Marketing and our API is opening up a powerful communication channel to all the marketing pros whose expertise extends the reach of hospitals and providers through education and story-based content that impacts patient health and well-being.
Many of the healthcare marketing professionals that we met agree that HIPAA compliance is necessary, but it also makes personalization and communication with patients a challenge.
A repeated concern we heard this week was getting information easily to senior patients who may not be as familiar with some technology. Fortunately, our solution makes receiving emails for patients completely seamless. There is no need for passwords, portals, or any extra steps to decrypt emails sent with PHI. Email open rates are an ongoing challenge, but when you add in an obstacle like a rarely used password or portal logon you just know that email will likely go to the trash folder. On the other hand, Paubox Marketing customers are reporting open rates of 70%.
Serving more than 4,000 members, the Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD), a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association, powers the professions of health care, including but not limited to marketing, digital engagement, communications, strategic planning, and business development. We met a lot of creative, innovative professionals who are driven to improve patient care through better communications.
