  • "Other" attack vector types ranked second, with 196,600 people affected.
  • Email breaches ranked third, with 179,883 people affected.

The Most Common

  • Network server and email breaches are the most common attack vector types this month, with 20 breaches each in October.
  • Paper/Films is the third most common attack vector with 4 breaches.

 

Takeaways

Network servers and email are the top contributing attack vectors for data breaches in October. Network servers continue to affect more people in total than any other type. Presbyterian Healthcare Services had the largest breach in October, with 193,223 people affected via "other" attack vectors. Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System had the second-largest breach, with 118,874 people affected. This breach was via a network server.
