Digital first healthcare at Paubox Spring Summit 2021

Digital first healthcare at Paubox Spring Summit 2021
We are pleased to announce that Anshul Pande, from Stanford Children’s Health, will be a keynote speaker at "Secure Communication During a Pandemic," the Paubox Spring Summit 2021, taking place on Tuesday, April 6. The one-day virtual event will provide relevant content from thought leaders in cybersecurity, healthcare, and compliance about unidentified risks, best practices, and innovative solutions. Instead of the typical sales pitches, attendees will be able to interact with speakers and other attendees during Q&As and remote networking opportunities.

About Anshul Pande

Pande is the vice president and chief technology officer of Stanford Children’s Health, the only healthcare system in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to pediatric and obstetric care. It is also one of the few in the country. As CTO, Pande is responsible for all aspects of technology selection, deployment, and delivery for Children’s Health. Before joining Stanford Children’s Health, Pande was the vice president and chief technology officer of ProMedica Health. There, he completed a multiyear technology transformation including an Epic deployment, two mergers, and a divesture. He was also with Epic for 10 years in various technical roles. His educational background in manufacturing systems and industrial engineering along with his work experience has made Pande a leader in digital innovation.

Digital transformations in a post-pandemic world

The title of Pande’s keynote presentation is “Digital First Healthcare in a Post-Pandemic World.” The healthcare industry can use technological innovation to streamline physician’s workflows, optimize systems, improve patient outcomes, reduce human error, and lower costs. Better patient engagement increases patient activation and involvement, which means better patient care. But industry experts consider the healthcare industry slow in adopting technologies. Recently, however, the industry has undertaken major alterations to digital healthcare. And one of the main reasons for this is the need for covered entities (CEs) to rely on new technology because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CEs and patients have had to redefine communication and access at a time when both were difficult. Telehealth was embraced by patients, CEs, and HIPAA as it became clear that appointments could not always be in-person. Access to electronic protected health information (ePHI) increased through secure communication tools such as HIPAA compliant email.

Pande will explore what digital transformation means in a post-pandemic world and how organizations worldwide can focus on technology as a support rather than a crutch.
