I have enough passwords to remember for other things in my life. I don’t want to have to think about a password for [encrypted email] . . . [With Paubox] once I log in, that’s it. I’m done. I don’t have to log in for every email that I send out or put in a password for every email.Bergina Isbell, MD, Led Life
Dr. Bergina sends periodic newsletters to her psychiatry and coaching clients. She shares general information with both groups about mental health and wellness, so people can optimize their mental health performance.
Her most recent newsletters have been focused on COVID-19. She has shared articles and videos explaining best practices for working from home, such as maintaining good nutrition and working in a well lit area.
Dr. Bergina mentors mental health professionals who are trying to move into the online space during the COVID-19 outbreak. She has been sending them HIPAA compliant emails containing information about “how to navigate either working from home, or how to navigate the transition from taking their brick and mortar practice to an online practice,” she said.
Dr. Bergina has not had to struggle to immediately transition her practice to online therapy because she already made the move years ago.
“It’s business as usual here because I actually did the transition back in 2016,” she explained. “So we were way ahead of the game.”
Dr. Bergina appreciates Paubox Email Suite Plus's ease of use, as compared to other encryption tools.
“Whenever I would get encrypted email from other people from other organizations,” she said, “it would be something where I’d have to . . . make up a password and sign in. And honestly . . . it would be the last email that I would check . . . because I would say, ‘Okay, let me check the things that I can handle quickly [first]’ . . . So I avoided those emails like the plague.”
“I have enough passwords to remember for other things in my life. I don’t want to have to think about a password for this,” she went on. With Paubox, “once I log in, that’s it. I’m done. I don’t have to log in for every email that I send out or put in a password for every email.”
Using Paubox, Dr. Bergina can focus on her patients and helping other practitioners during the coronavirus health crisis, instead of worrying about HIPAA compliance for her email.
In the past 12 months alone, Paubox has encrypted nearly 2,000 emails that Dr. Bergina has sent. Since Paubox encrypts all emails by default, she did not have to spend any time wondering about whether or not to encrypt an email; it was done automatically. And all the email recipients had to do was click "open" to read an email - no password or portal required.
In addition, Paubox blocked 13 emails containing viruses, and 2 phishing attempts, any one of which could have led to a security breach and a hefty HIPAA fine.
This just goes to show you that not even small healthcare practices are safe from cybercrime, which is why inbound security with Paubox is so important.
