Written by Tshedimoso Makhene | June 27, 2025

The Paubox Kahikina Scholarship helps Native Hawaiian students pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and Tech in general. Its purpose is to offer financial support and create a strong network for these students. The scholarship makes education more affordable and connects students with professionals, giving them valuable opportunities to learn and grow in their chosen STEM or Tech fields. This scholarship is about more than just money; it's about building a community and empowering Native Hawaiian students to succeed in STEM or Tech careers.

Logan Lau is a 2023 Paubox Kahikina Scholarship recipient. In 2022, Lau graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama High School and went on to pursue a Computer Science with an additional concentration on AI or computer engineering at Stanford University. Here is a word from Logan Lau:

“Aloha! My name is Logan Lau. I'm a 2023 Paubox Kahikina Scholarship recipient and I currently attend Stanford University where I am now a rising senior majoring in management science and engineering and minoring in data science. Overall, I've really enjoyed this school year: It's been phenomenally successful, I've gotten to further explore my interests at the intersection of mathematics, computer science, and financial economics. I've also been able to hold a leadership board position on Stanford's chapter of AISES or the American Indian Science and Engineering Society while getting to support fellow indigenous students pursuing various STEM fields. Currently I am in New York City interning for Blackstone.

Finally I just wanted to thank Hoala Greevy again and the entire team at Paubox for really investing in my success and making college more accessible to native students like me.”
