Paubox Kahikina Scholarship Recipient Hailey Michimoto: 2025 update

Written by Kirsten Peremore | May 30, 2025

The Paubox Kahikina Scholarship helps Native Hawaiian students pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and Tech in general. Its purpose is to offer financial support and create a strong network for these students. The scholarship makes education more affordable and connects students with professionals, giving them valuable opportunities to learn and grow in their chosen STEM or Tech fields. This scholarship is about more than just money; it's about building a community and empowering Native Hawaiian students to succeed in STEM or Tech careers.

As a 2021 scholarship recipient, Hailey Michimoto attends Kapi’olani Community College (KCC) studying a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology. Here is a word from Hailey:

“It feels as though no time has passed since the last update!

In the last update, I was about to graduate and take my MLT Board exam. Current update: I passed and got my license!

I am still in school while I pursue my Bachelor’s in Medical Technology. I am also working in a hospital lab, gaining a lot of great experience while I am studying.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to achieve my goals and this honestly would not have been possible without Paubox. The Paubox Kahikina Scholarship is a great opportunity for all Native Hawaiian students who want to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. Without their generosity, I would not be where I am now.

Thank you to Paubox! Until next time!”
