The Paubox Kahikina Scholarship helps Native Hawaiian students pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and Tech in general. Its purpose is to offer financial support and create a strong network for these students. The scholarship makes education more affordable and connects students with professionals, giving them valuable opportunities to learn and grow in their chosen STEM or Tech fields. This scholarship is about more than just money; it's about building a community and empowering Native Hawaiian students to succeed in STEM or Tech careers.

Scholarship recipient Brayden Morioka just completed his sophomore year at the University of Michigan, studying Civil Engineering, where he's been actively involved in cultural leadership through the Hawaii Club and achieved recognition with the ASCE Timber team. Here is a word from Brayden:
"Mahalo. My name is Brayden Morioka, and I'm a proud recipient of the Paubox Kahikina Scholarship. I just wrapped up my sophomore year at the University of Michigan, where I'm studying Civil Engineering. This past year has been full of growth and opportunity for me as I served as a performance co-chair for the Hawaii Club, helping to share our culture through events like our first-ever luau at the University of Michigan. I was also part of the ASCE Timber team, where we were runner-ups overall and took first place for our BIM model. This summer, I just finished my internship at Albert C. Kobayashi as a product engineer intern at the Iolani School Arrillaga Student Center. This internship has given me firsthand experience on the general contractor side of construction and allowed me to further my engineering career. This coming school year, I'm looking forward to hosting a conference on sustainable construction as a part of the Construction Management and Sustainability Scholars Program. Mahalo to Hoala Greevy and the entire Paubox team for your ongoing support. Thank you for investing in my future and empowering me to keep striving for excellence in everything I do. Mahalo."
