Malware protection added to Paubox Branded Storage

Written by Hoala Greevy | June 29, 2015

We are pleased to announce the addition of malware protection to Paubox Branded Storage. With data breaches at an unprecedented high, we realize how important it is to ensure data integrity of your Paubox files. With the introduction of malware protection, you gain peace of mind that files uploaded to Paubox will first be checked for malware, viruses, trojans, and worms.

How does it work?

When someone upload files or folders to Paubox, each file will first be checked for bad content. This includes malware, trojans, rootkits and viruses. If malware is detected, an alert will be issued to the person uploading the file and the upload will stop. Paubox does not allow malware to be uploaded.

How often is the Malware Signature Database Updated?

Paubox updates its malware signature database twice an hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We collect malware and virus definitions from hundreds of sources and compile them together into a comprehensive malware signature database for you.

Taking a Proactive Approach

In June 2015, did you know providers like Dropbox and ShareFile still allow malware to be uploaded to their cloud storage systems? With the rise of cloud computing, we believe cloud-based malware attacks will become a commonplace reality in the near future. With Paubox, you have the assurance that we've already taken precautions to prevent this type of attack.
