A word from one of this year's recipients, Kyrie Bartolome. Kyrie will be attending Oregon Institute of Technology and studying diagnostic medical sonography.

Kyrie Bartolome: Aloha, my name is Kyrie Bartolome, and I am a recipient of the 2021 Paubox Kahikina STEM Scholarship. I'm inspired to go into diagnostic medical sonography. It's a healthcare profession that uses science and technology to help patients diagnosis their abnormalities and ailments. As a Native Hawaiian, I think going into this field will be very rewarding because I get to show my spirit of Aloha by being the light of kindness and compassion. As a scholarship recipient, I am very grateful that Paubox was able to help me. Earning this scholarship has made me realize that hard work and perseverance pay off. It gives me the drive to strive for academic excellence and be an inspirational member of my community. Mahalo!
