Kelvin Coleman confirmed to speak at Paubox SECURE @ Home
by Kapua Iao
We are pleased to announce that Kelvin Coleman will be a keynote speaker at our upcoming virtual conference, Paubox SECURE @ Home, taking place on October 21–22.
Coleman is a leader within the cybersecurity industry and has conducted countless cybersecurity awareness tours throughout the U.S. Given the advancements in technology today and a shift toward people working from home, awareness is more important than ever.
About Kelvin Coleman
Coleman is the executive director at the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), which builds public-private partnerships to create and implement cybersecurity education and awareness.
He has had two decades of experience at the White House, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the private sector. Coleman has also worked on the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee during portions of the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations.
At NCSA, Coleman is responsible for leading organizational growth and facilitating strategic partnerships and alliances with government, industry, and nonprofits. The organization’s mission is to facilitate safe connections and educate users with best practices in an ever more connected world.
Coleman is recognized for his work developing cybersecurity policy and products, improving awareness and readiness, and establishing guidelines for workplace safety.
Kelvin Coleman and Paubox SECURE
Given Coleman’s immense experience fostering cybersecurity awareness, we are excited to hear his keynote presentation on security awareness with a remote team.
Even the best cybersecurity strategy isn’t foolproof without proper preparation, including training such as:
- How to use cybersecurity tools
- How to recognize a malicious email
- What to do if a breach happens
- Implementing policies and procedures (for organizations)
The best-laid security plan can fall apart when individuals are exploited through phishing emails, social engineering, and related efforts. This is why understanding cybersecurity is as important as using cybersecurity.
Especially given the current cyber environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic as more and more organizations turn to remote working.
An increase in telecommuting gives cybercriminals more opportunities to exploit unprotected threat vectors.
Coleman’s focus on remote teams and the significance of security awareness at Paubox SECURE is more important now than ever.
