About Bruce Snell

Snell is a respected cybersecurity industry leader, having worked for more than two decades in information security. Having been online since the days of the dial-up bulletin board, Snell's passion for his work has led him to network security roles at both Fortune 500 companies and dot-com startups. Snell comes to the role with extensive experience in system administration and network security, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection and prevention, security information and event management (SIEM), and data loss prevention (DLP), including email DLP. He spent four years in Japan, working with several major firms in developing long-term security strategies. While there, he also helped develop industrial control system policies and smart city initiatives. More recently, Snell has been heavily involved in cybersecurity research, including the Internet of things and operational technology (IoT/OT) security. He is the co-host of the award-winning podcast Hackable? where  over 36 episodes he and renowned Canadian filmmaker Geoff Siskind explore the security implications of everything from smart baby devices to fax machines, video doorbells, and pet tech. Snell has been featured on Bloomberg Tech, CBS, CNBC, and in the L.A. Times, and he has been a guest lecturer at Wharton and Harvard Business School.
